*SPOILERS* 5th Reveal for Book 2 - The 4th Rose!

Welcome everyone!

This week I'll be revealing the rose for Leo, second in command at the Lodge under Thaul. Leo is a a burly man with bright red hair and an even brighter red beard. He's cantankerous often times, but loyal to his Lodge and even more loyal to his leader.

If you have trouble remembering him, he is the huntsman that first discovered Tristan in the Lodge in Book 1. He tossed Tristan into their interrogation room, suspecting him to be some sort of spy. Thaul took an instant liking to Tristan, however, and assigned him to Mersha's troupe.

In the rest of Book 1, Leo faded into the background. In Book 2, though, he will have a much more prominent role.

Leo's rose reflects his personality. It is orderly and symmetrical. The thorns appear in two perfectly aligned formations on each end of the stem. The leaves, likewise, are balanced and well cared-for. The petals on the bloom are neither too showy nor too discrete. They are as they should be for a well-disciplined hunter of Unhallowed.

For those who live a very structured life, I imagine Leo is a character you can easily identify with. He likes the Lodge run smoothly and demands hunters respect the chain of command.

His demand for order can sometimes run afoul of huntsmen more used to independence. The Lodge is a loose confederation, not a military organization. Hunters can join and quit as they please. Thus, there is always a delicate balancing act for the leadership: how much can you demand from someone before they just walk away?

It's a never-ending struggle that Thaul manages well. Perhaps that is why Leo is so loyal to him. Without Thaul, it's hard to know if the Lodge could hold itself together.
